A night of Operation Valkyrie

Valkyrie (val-ker-ry) was a great movie! It has a nice plot and handsome actor (Tom Cruise).
This story is based on a true life account of Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg who was tasked to assassinate Adolf Hitler.

"A proud military man, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg is a loyal officer who serves his country all the while hoping that someone will find a way to stop Hitler before Europe and Germany are destroyed. Realizing that time is running out, he decides that he must take action himself and joins the German resistance.

Armed with a cunning strategy to use Hitlers own emergency plan known as Operation Valkyrie these men plot to assassinate the dictator and overthrow his Nazi government from the inside.

With everything in place, with the future of the world, the fate of millions and the lives of his wife and children hanging in the balance, von Stauffenberg is thrust from being one of many who oppose Hitler to the one who must kill Hitler himself.
"

The movie makes us reflect on how cruel war is. Its thrilling and intense right from the beginning. Its worth watching!!

After movies we headed to Central Mall for dinner.
Walked past this restaurant last week and wanted to come back to try next time.

Before we even reached the restaurant at the 3rd level, we could smell the aroma of the curry.
Makes me very hungry lo.
The Q was expectedly long and we waited for almost 30 mins .

While waiting outside the restaurant, we cam-whored.
Testing the flexibility of our facial muscles.

The interior was well decorated. As if we were sitting and eating in a kitchen.

Chicken and Mushroom Spag with Black Squid Ink Curry!
very nice~~~~~

Chicken and mushroom omelette rice with Black Squid Ink Curry.
not too bad too~~

I think the black curry is not something that we will always get to eat.
It has some unique taste as compared to normal jap curry.
Not fishy taste, but some taste that i cant elaborate.

After dinner, we went Mind Cafe and played an hour of Jenga and Jungle Speed with his friends.
They all claimed that this is the healthiest night that they have spent.
no beer~~

Ah ba's birthday was a blast, literally.
His childhood friends all gathered at his house and they had a drinking session.
Everyone was on "high" mode, they were all blasting at the top of their voices, almost went deaf.

They were all drinking like nobody's business, I decided not to join in just in case they needed someone to drag them out of the house. HAHA

His 3 best buddies, who were always there for him!
Of course other than me.

They had red wine (which lasted barely 15 mins), Malibu, Bailey's but NOT the XO.
Its just for show.

High-ness on the scale of 4 out of 5 already.

Happy Birthday!
I am very satisfied with the cake I made. I think it looks quite nice and its delectable!

Then I decided to cook for him the next day.
It seems like a yearly thing. Every year have to think of what cake to bake and what to cook. HAHA.

I should buy more recipe books and brush up on my cooking skills. Who knows, next time I may open a restaurant!

I tried Tandoori Chicken this year.
The recipe is actually meant for 2 chicken thighs, but i replaced it with breast meat instead because Ah Ba prefers that cut.
It turns out to be pretty good.

I used the remaining marinate to stir fry some Korean mushrooms. Mashed some potatoes and steamed some broccoli, and it becomes a complete meal.
MADE WITH LURVE~

Celebrated Valentine's Day at Astons Specilaities.
After hearing so much about it, I wanted to try how nice it is.

We headed to The Cathay as thats the most accessible place for us.
The Q was freaking long. Should have taken the Q to proof. We Q-ed for almost an hour before getting a seat.
The food better be good, else it will really be a waste of time.

Ah Ba did this photo frame for me as a Vday gift.
He still try to smoke me saying that he did the frame from scratch. You think I will believe. haha.
I appreciate the effort, okie.

The mushroom soup was pretty good. Not as runny as I expected.
It was kinda thick and had lots of mushroom in it.

I had Grilled Fish with fries and pasta salad.
Portion of the fish was just nice.
Fries were tad too cold, pasta salad was not too bad.

Ah Ba had Fried Fish which i think was quite big, Baked Potato and Coleslaw.

All of the above plus a drink is only less than $20!
Quite worth it ah. Food standard is not too bad too. Can go back again.
But right now, I crave for "First Thai" thai food.
Looks like I am more suited for Asian food.

After dinner, we walked to city hall to digest our food.
Ah Ba bought his shirt at city link and we headed to clark quay since we had no where else to go.

Settled at Coffee Club for our favourite Mud Pie.
We managed to get a window seat and it overlook the Singapore River.
We can see lots of people selling flowers and couples holding hands strolling by the river bank.
Small clusters of people also gathered around the sides to drink and to immerse in the romantic mood.

Tried their Strawberry Tea Freeze.
I think the taste of the mud pie was too strong that it overwhelmed the taste of the tea.
It tasted completely like water to us, except for the occasional bits of strawberries.

Ah ba bought me a stalk of flower from a young boy.
He asked if the flowers were real and the boy replied that "Its real".

It sounded like "Israel" to me and I thought wow, how come the flowers were so unique that it flew from Israel and that became the joke of the day!

Ah ba's friend joined us later for some drinks at ez50 (sarah, they changed band, now got english songs).
